Obituary of Jamie Weiner

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Jamie Scott Weiner MD, 61, who passed on December 10, 2014 at his home in State College Pa. Jamie was born December 25, 1952 in Brooklyn NY. Preceded in death by his parents Herman and Gertrude Weiner. He leaves behind his wife Elaine (Mahan) Weiner; his daughters, Chloe Noelle Weiner, Holly Elaine Schipp, Sarah Patricia Weiner, her partner Terrance Johnson their daughter, Jamie's granddaughter, Isla Harper Johnson; his sister-in-law Robbin Rappaport Weiner and his niece and nephew, Ariel Weiner and Andrew Weiner. Jamie was a BRILLIANT man! In 1973 he received his bachelor's degree from Rutgers University where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Henry Rutgers Scholar in Biochemistry. He then went on to receive his medical degree in 1977 from SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn NY. In 1980 he became board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and was a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He touched the lives of many over the 33 years he was a Physician. During his down time, Jamie loved doing the New York Times Crossword Puzzle (only in pen, of course), playing the piano, listening to classical music (he was self-proclaimed classical music snob) and reading and watching movies. He was a lover of trains (memorizing and studying the NY Subway System and the London Tube), Nathans Hot Dogs, and Tasty Cakes and the family "Dawgs" (said in his NY accent). The family will hold a private Celebration of Life service.
