I remember Scott from high school in State College ... always smiling, always upbeat. Though he graduated elsewhere, we embrace him as one of our classmates, Class of 1981. Condolences.

Scott was a wonderful friend and shipmate. I have known no one with a bigger heart. Scott, as anyone who has had been blessed to know him knows, had wonderful sense of humor and quick wit that made many a people laugh. I still use many of his one liners and share the source, my buddy Scott , with those that have to hear them often. I am thankful for the many memories and thoughts that Scotty has left me with. Those Wildwood Days spent with our children and family, and some nights without! Scott was like a poet and very passionate in all of his interests. I think of Scott and many things come to mind: NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, guitar, country music, hunting, fishing, two deer taken with a bow (seconds apart), Snacks, pickled eggs, Jimmy Buffett concert, my first visit to Happy Valley, comedian Jay Hickman (we wore that cassette out), USCG TRACEN Cape May, Tadpole Rd, that Ford Ranger……Thanks buddy! I wish that I had his ability to vocalize thoughts and feelings the way he could.
To Shane , I can say that there is nothing in this world that made him more proud than you "Jake". Cookie, you were his best friend and confidant.
To all his family, our deepest condolences from Sherri and I. We will keep you and Scott in our prayers.
Fair winds and following seas Scotty!

To the family of Scott. I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss. I truly enjoyed sailing with Scott. I have never forgotten some cold Vermont days that Scott and I spent hunting. I will truly now cherish those memories.

Scott was probably the most fun loving person on the face of the planet. He had so many things that he loved. He loved to sing and play guitar for many years. He had a nice voice and put his whole heart and soul into it.
He spent many an afternoon playing golf and many an evening at the 19th hole with his buddies.
The whole hunting thing was another passion for him, whether it be big game or small. He spent many years hunting with family in both PA and in NY. He used rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader and even bow at times. He actually won medals in archery.
Fishing was another love. He and his friends loved to sit in the shanty in Maine and Vermont and wait for the tipups to flag, while they stayed warm by the fire. He liked to deep sea fish whenever he could also. He loved to tell the tale of the big one that got away.
A huge sports fan of Dale Earnhart in Nascar, the Pittsburg Pirates and the Steelers, he tried never to miss a game or a race.
He was good at fixing cars, an ability handed down from his father, and he in turn handed his mechanical abilities to his son Shane.
He had the type of personality that was easy to get along with and with his Coast Guard career he lived many different places and always became great friends with many, many people.
To all the people who knew and loved him (myself included), I know that wherever he is, whatever he is doing, he will find friends to hang with and do the things he loves for eternity.
