Obituary of Betty Grubb

Betty Louise Grubb, 91, of Huntingdon, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Westminster Woods, in Huntingdon, where she has lived for the past five years. Born June 10, 1923 in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Katoria Flick Bailey. On October 23, 1943, in State College, she married Donald A. Grubb who preceded her in death on July 18, 2004. Together they managed a farm off Nixon Road in State College for forty years. She is survived by three children, Thomas A. Grubb of Port Richy, Florida, Jean Grubb Sargeant and her husband, Bruce, of Venice, Florida and Donald R. Grubb and his wife, Carol, of Petersburg; one sister, Lula "Sis" Dreibelbis of State College; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and four sister-in-laws. Betty attended State College Schools. She was a member of Pine Hall Lutheran Church. Betty enjoyed camping, painting, gardening and collecting recipe books. As a young lady she worked at the original Schlow Library and during the war she worked at the Weiss Store. Visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Greg Harbaugh officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
